The primary difference between Soan and SleeperOne⑤ is their power sources. Soan is a wireless device whereas SleeperOne⑤ is a cabled device. In addition, Soan offers two injection speeds, high and low, while SleeperOne⑤ has three speed options: high, medium, and low. The only difference between these settings is that for the SleeperOne⑤ the medium speed is indicated for intraligamentary injections whereas for the Soan these injections can be performed under the “low” setting. While SleeperOne’s only setting adjustment is the injection speed, Soan offers the following additional customizable settings: sound management (on/off), time before shutdown, quantity preselection, and mode of operation of injection pedal (cruise vs drive).
It is possible to perform intraosseous anesthesia with Soan and SleeperOne⑤ in children and adolescent patients. With Soan and SleeperOne⑤, it is not possible to deliver an intraosseous anesthesia for adult patients but can be used for delivering intraosseous anesthesia in primary and mixed dentition. Since children’s cortical plates are immature, Soan and SleeperOne⑤ can easily penetrate the cortical plates and penetrate the cancellous bone to deliver the anesthetic around the tooth apices.
For maximum efficiency, it is recommended to use Effitec Needles®. Their unique scalpel bevel edge incises the tissues without tearing them, making the penetration easier for the dental professional and painless for the patient.
Soan and SleeperOne⑤ are electronic injection pens designed to effectively replace your manual syringe. There are new protocols and procedures to follow with the introduction of intraosseous anesthetic techniques. However, when performing soft tissue injections, your protocols will not change. You will perform all your anesthesia injections painlessly and with greater comfort thanks to the progressive delivery of the anesthetic solution into the tissues.
The wireless pedal allows the dental professional to control the injection. This remote control enables a real pen grip and better support points for maximum precision when holding the device.
